How is a telephone beacon different to a normal beacon?

Telephone beacons incorporate extra circuitry to interface to the telephone line. The beacon sits in a stand-by state until a ring signal is detected and then the beacon operates. This blasts-away the competition as the beacon is "Instant-ON"

Where would I need a telephone beacon?

Telephone Beacons are needed in all applications where the telephone ring either cannot or must not be heard. Examples include:-

• Factory shop floor
• Recording studios
• Sports Stadia
• Construction sites
• .......
• Other remote signalling applications

Do I still need a mains supply to the beacon?

Yes.

All except the GFD (LED version) require external power. "deegee" has ensured though that the power supply is incorporated inside the device so no need for unsightly external transformers.

If a supply is normally required then why not on the GFD?

The GFD was specifically designed to be driven entirly from the telephone line. It uses low power LED's to give a bright light from low input current.

What is the difference between TRDO and TRDA?

TRDO

Telephone Ring Detector without anti-tinkle capacitor - for use on standard BT style 3/4 wire analogue telephone circuits

TRDA

Telephone Ring Detector with anti-tinkle capacitor - for use on 2 wire analogue circuits commonly found throughout the world (e.g. USA)

Can you supply units with a fitted cable?

Yes. We can supply systems which are Ready-to-go just by plugging directly into the telephone socket and mains supply where required for the following countries (others being added all the time!):-
